Forecast: Winds from between. north and west gradually prevailing, , force strong at times about and south of Cook Strait, but otherwise moderate; a change to moderate south-westerlies should extend over most of the South Island during tomorrow. Seas becoming rather rough nhout Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere slight to moderate, but rising somewhat 011 tho west coast of tho South Island. Winds from a westerly quarter predominating, strong, but later decreasing in the central and southern portions of tlie Tasman Sea, with rather rough to rough seas, but elsewhere moderate in force, with slight to moderate seas. Weather fair to fine generally at first, conditions soon becoming 'unsettled, however, in Westland and later in Southland, with rain developing from the south and west in eastern districts of the South Island, some scattered showers accompanying the south-westerly change. Temperatures moderate.
