WEST COAST' STORM

[by telegraph OWN correspondent] GREYMOUTH, Sunday A northerly gale, which has brought bad weather generally along the coastline, gives indications of the possibility of flood in the main tributaries if the rain continues. So far as Greymotith is concerned a minor flood in the Grey River would be welcome, as it would flush away the sand and silt deposits on the harbour bar, which has shoaled up considerably - over the past two months. Although there were no indications of flood in the Grey River this evening heavy rain had been recorded upcountry, while the Teremakau liiver. 12 miles further south, had risen somewhat in the afternoon.
