SWEDE MISSES SHIP
DEPORTATION ORDERED [by telegraph—owx courespondent] NAPIER, Friday Tho department was somewhat concerned at the number of seamen missing their ships, said tho collector of customs in tho Napier Magistrate's Court, when a Swedish seaman, Osknr Reinhold Holm, was charged with deserting from his ship, at Napier and with entering tho country without a permit. It was explained that Holm had arrived hack from shore leave in Napier just as his ship was leaving. Ho had not really deserted, for he had tried to rejoin his ship, said Sergeant Forsyth. Tho charge of desertion was withdrawn by the police. Holm -was ordered to be deported from the country, pending which he was ordered to be detained in custody for a period not exceeding six months.
