Film Autobiography
George Murphy, who had a leading role in "Broadway Melody of 1940," has joined the actor-authors of the screen. Together with his wife, he has just completed the script of a film based on their life together. It shows their struggles to crash the stage in America and abroad. Probably the most interesting scene shows their first professional engagement. This took place at a Chinese restaurant. The Murphys were in.such a bad position financially that they could get neither room nor music with which to rehearse. So they danced free at the restaurant just so as to make use of the restaurant's orchestra and dance floor.
