Three Cyclists
jQEAR ANNE SHIRLEY, —One day Pain Kelly, my sister Nancy, ami J. went for „a bicycle ride. We cycled from Tuakau three miles to the Waikato Bridge, -which spans the river. .After crassing th,e bridge a few chains t to the left we entered the hush. We scrambled past nikau palms and pungas till" we reached a waterfall, that towered above >' us. It roared and ramped, then ruslied on further down the glen. There we sat/and enjoyed refreshments. Then we looked for lacy leaves and. * after Pam had succeeded in sinking the mud up over her ankles three times, we decided to go down to the river to wash. We washed our feet and our shoes; then, while they were drying, we played tpniquoit. As soon as we were dry we cycled i on to the bridge and peered at a Maori woman .catching whitebait. —Yours faithfully, Vida Tuakau.
