Novel Nests
T)EAR ANNE SHIRLEY, Don't some hens have queer notions? A friend of ours had a hen who always laid on top of a totara tree. Of course, the egg fell to the ground and was smashed. When they put a box of straw underneath she shifted on to another branch. Just recently one of our hens laid at the door of the fowlhousc, and the other day we found four bantam eggs, of all places, in the corner of the dog's kennel. Last week we were playing near,a swamp and found a wild duck's nest with seven eggs in it. —Best wishes from yours sincerely, Audrey Colmer, Kirikopuni.
