HOSPITAL ADDITIONS

X-RAY AND SHELTERS Ministerial approval of the supply and installation of X-ray therapeutic equipment at the Auckland Hospital was contained in a letter received from the Director-General of Health, Dr., M. H. Watt, at a meeting of the Hospital Board last night. The estimated cost is £4503. "The goods have been ordered," said the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody.

Dr. Watt also forwarded the approval of the Minister of the building of two temporary shelters for female patients at the Auckland Infirmary, at an estimated cost of £2300. The actingarchitect, Mr. 11. L. Farrell, said the proposed shelters were planned to accommodate seven beds each. The board approved the plans, and empowered the Buildings Committee to have the shelters erected by the Fletcher Construction Company, Limited.
