PRODUCER-GAS VEHICLES
FORMER TAXATION CHARGES Mileage tax on voliicles running on prodiicer-gas and other substitute fuels, which has now. been abolished, has in the past been assessed on a fixed according to tho type of vehicle. Motorvehicles other than cars using producergas have beeu divided into 17 types according to weight, cars being placed in a separate category. The tax has ranged from 6s 8d per 100 miles for motor-cars, to 18s lid for very heavy vehicles, but these charges have been subject to substantial rebates. In the case of motor-cars, the tax has worked out at 2s per 100 miles.
