ENGLISH TROPHY CHALLENGE CANTERBURY AND AUCKLAND Canterbury, noted for its powerful challenges, will make a strenuous effort at Blandford Park to-day to lift tho English Trophy from (Auckland, and there is every likelihood of the game producing a sparkling exhibition of Soccer. Although D. Mcßae will not be guarding the Canterbury net on this occasion, tho visitors' defenco should prove formidable, while their forward line, which includes four brothers, should not bo lacking cither in thrust or combination. In spite of its recent defeat by Wellington, the same Auckland side will take the field t-o-day. Much will depend on the ability of •i i, j' es - ! beat down tho Canterbury middlo division and keep their own forwards moving. The Auckland vanguard should reveal clever constructive play and accurate marksmanship.
