MILLIONS FOR WAR
SOUTH AFRICAN BUDGET CAPETOWN, August 2S ■ The South African Minister of Finance, Mr. J. H. Hofmeyr, has presented a supplementary Budget of £32,938,000. The sum of £32,000,000 is required for»defence, making a total defence allocation for the year of £46,000,000. Income tax and super tax are both to be increased by 20 per cent, which will be a special war levy.
