AUCKLAND SCOUTS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Auckland Boy Scouts' Association was held last night. The Dominion Chief Commissioner. Mr. Hector Christie, was present. It was stated that there was a total of 2553 persons engaged in scouting work throughout the Dominion. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Christie said that, while there was now a tendency among many organisations to go into retirement, this was a time when the Boy Scouts' organisation was needed. Great steps were being made. Following are tne officers xor the coming year:—Metropolitan Commissioner, Major R. F. Ward; Metropoli 7 tan Honorary Commissioner, Sir Joseph Smith; commissioners, Messrs. L. S. Abbott, W. D. Johns, A. J. Veart, N. M. Matheson, P. Hall, D. M. Morgan, S. P. McGuigan, A. Tribble, N. P. Walker, R. Wild: honorary treasurer, Mr. H. G. Robinson; honorary secrotary, Mr. A. D. Thomson; honorary auditors, Messrs. Morris, Duncan and Gyllies; councillors, Messrs. T. H. Brooke, A. S. P. Brookfield. M. Cumming, W. B. Darlow, A. T. Dow, G. F. Frieberg, C. H. Furness, R. Sellar, A. Service, G. L. Tavlor, J. Tyler, T. J. Carter, A. Blomeley. H. Frost, J. M. Elliff'e, the Rev. L. E. Cartridge.
