CHANGE TO CHEESE APPEAL TO SUPPLIERS CAMBRIDGE COMPANY'S EFFORT [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Friday A strong appeal was made by the chnirnuui, Mr. W.' Harbntt, at to-day's meeting of the Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, for suppliers to produce as much cheese as possible to assist in the Dominion's effort to send an additional 15,000 tons of cheese to England this season. He stated that an additional vat had been installed at each of the company's six cheese factories, which would increase the output by 450 tons. If the supply could be kept op to flush throughout the whole season, an additional 214 tons would be available.

It would bo necessary for sonic farmers to make the change from butter supply to cheese, added Mr. Harbntt. For some this would be costly, and it was hoped that the Government would make a grant to meet part of the expense.

Mr. G. A. Walsh considered that it would be very difficult to reach the amount required. He felt _ that the Dairy Board should investigate the position, and if the full amount did not seem possible it should he announced. Mr. F. 11. Anderson said if every possible farmer turned to cheese, even after haymaking was finished, the Cambridge Company would make 1000 tons extra. Mr. Harbntt announced that cheesemaking would commence on August 10.
