TWO FARMERS HURT
TRUCK FAILS TO STOP [BY TELEGRArn —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Thursday As the result of being knocked down by a motor-truck, which failed to stop, two farmers of Hukerenui, Mr. George Llewellyn Ford and Mr, Harold Pearson Bauglian, each suffered a compound fracture of the right leg, near Whakapara this evening. A third man, Mr. Allan Hawson, motor mechanic, of Hikurangi, was also struck, but escaped with minor injuries. Messrs. Ford and Bauglian were motoring home when their car broke down. Four men were standing around the vehicle, which had been drawn in to the side of tho road.
A motor-truck appeared, travelling south. Passing close to the stationary car, it knocked three of the men over and continued on its way. The injured men were treated by Dr. D. Armstrong, of Hikurangi, and taken to the Whangarei Hospital.
