C. McCready criticised the Rural Housing Act at the Whakatane County Council's monthly meeting. He contended that the State Advances Corporation should deal direct with farmers requiring houses. After a lengthy discussion the council decided to renew its application for a loan of £50,000 for advances to farmers in the county under the terms of the Act.
