AMERICAN MACHINES PEAK OF 3000 MONTHLY 12,000 ENGINES BOUGHT By Telegraph—Press Association—-Copyright (Received July 25, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 25 The Minister for Aircraft Production, Lord Beaverbrook, disclosed in a broadcast that Mr. Henry Morgenthau, Secretary to the United States Treasury, had informed the Canadian Minister for Air, Mr. C. Most aircraft frames were being made in Britain, where American engines were -fitted. Spirit in Industry "These engines are powerful and modern, and of a type tested in many long journeys across the American continent," he said. An unhidden witness, announcing himself as a workmate of Smith's, described him as "an inveterate gambler and the least Christian member of the staff."
