ROTORUA HOSPITAL
LEASE OF SITE SETTLED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday Final agreement was reached on the question of the lease of the Pukeroa reserve as a hospital site by the Waikato Hospital Board at a meeting of the Botorua Borough Council last night. A letter was received from the Minister of Health, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, stating that since a letter from Mr. H. Tai Mitchell outlining the attitude of the Ngatii-Whakaue to the proposed investiture of the reserve in the hospital board had been received, it had been decided to give the board a lease in perpetuity of the area. The Mayor. Mr. T. Jackson, added that in the lease there was a saving clause that if the area were not required for the construction of a hospital at some later date the reserve would revert to its original status as a public domain.
