HARRIER RACING
RUNS ON SATURDAY LYNNDALE ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP Following are details of runs held by harrier clubs on Saturday afternoon: — Lynndalc.—The annual road championship was decided over an Avondale-Mount Albert courso of nearly five miles. Sinton, whoso time was r,s, followed by E. G. Hughes. 2(im 455; D Gallagher, 28m 7s; and A. H. While, 20)11 17s. The junior _ handicap resulted: —D. Gallagher, 23m 375, 1; L. G. Hughes, 21 m 15s, 2; G. J. Sinton, 2oin os, Ellerslie. —About 40 runners attended the inter-club run at Ellerslie, three largo packs covering a six and a-half miles course. Over Ihe last two miles McCntchan and Jones, in the fast pack, went to the front from McKcnzie, and they kept that order to the finish. In the intermediate pack, led by S. Geen (Ellerslie), an outstanding exhibition was given by three members of the Ellerslie junior team, Welhorn, Orange, and a newcomer from Papakura, E. Irvine, llicy were closely attended by Graham and Lynds, or University, who ran easily nil tie way. S. Geen, Bedford, Cleminett, Faithfull and \\ cston also were prominent. In the slow pack, led by F. Sharp (Ellerslie). a (rood pace was maintained, with Sherry (EUerslio), Hassan (University) and Gillespie (Ellerslie) always prominent,' The Ellerslie runs-in resulted:— Senior: P. Toomnn, 1; S. Geen, 2; E. B. C.i - lespie, 3: Junior: F. Orange, 1; A. Bedford, 2; E. Faithfull, 3.
