WORK FOR TEMPERANCE
The monthly meeting of the Auckland district executive of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Temperance Room, Queen Street, on Monday. The district vice-president, Mrs. F. W. Mountjoy, presided and the devotions were led by Mrs. Christopher. Reports wore presented on the alldav prayer meeting for peace, on work for the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund, and on assistance given to the St. Matthew's Welcome Club. For a temperance demonstration to be held later in the year the officers elected were the district officers, Mrs. Holmes, Sister Jessie and Miss J. Cowan. Reports of various branch meetings held during the month of Juno were also presented.
