BOXING TITLE

FISHER TO MEET CALTAUX WELTER-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland Boxing Association is catering for the public desiro for action in arranging for Norman Fisher as an opponent for tho rugged Auckland welter-weight Vic. Caltaux next Monday night. At Fisher's request the bout will be a championship contest for tho New Zealand welter-weight title. Aucklanders aro more than usually interested in the first appearance of the southern fighter, who has performed so creditably in Christchur.ch and Dunedin. It is just over 12 months since Fisher took out a professional's licence, and during that period he has gained all his victories, with the exception of a points decision over "the Australian Sid Sloane, by means of a knock-out. Fast on his feet and unusually cool-headed, he should prove an ideal opponent for Caltaux, who likes to be on the move all the time. Fisher has invariably pleased the spectators by his fast, open style and persistent aggressiveness.

Several well-known amateurs will feature in the preliminaries, among them being the Auckland champion, D. Rollinson, and L. Pennington, J. King and J. Jenkins.
