WHANGAREI NOTES
The Northland candidate, Miss Mary Collins, in the Auckland provincial queen carnival, organised to raise l'unds for the join appeal of the St. John and Pod Cross, was introduced to the people 0^ r the Wliangarei district at a community sing at the Town Hall. Miss Collins, who saw service as a nurse in the last war, gave reminiscences of her war experiences in Malta, Egypt and England. ill's. It. Peacock, of Henderson, is visiting Wliangarei. Miss C. Eraser is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. H. Goodhow is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. H. Hand, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. T. Caplin, of Wliangarei. will return to Wellington this week.
