TENNIS TEMPERAMENT
Tho Lawn Tennis Association of Victoria received a request at its last meoting from tho Australian association to the effect that something should be done to educate young players in court manners and general deportment. Commenting upon the subject, a writer in a Melbourne paper says that during the past, few years the conduct of many of the leading players, who regularly appear in championship tournaments, has taken a distinct turn for the worse, and it is regrettable that tho ruling body has been obliged to appeal to the various State associations to correct something which should nevor have been allowed to occur. Bad manners in modern players have often been excused as "temperament," but there are many other outlets for the highly-strung player than slinging his or her racket from one ond of the court to the other, grumbling at tho umpiro's decisions, glaring at the linesmen and similar exhibitions of temper which are all too frequent at any championship meeting.
