Sir, —1 sincerely congratulate your correspondent Ernest Cory 011 his letter in Thursday's Hkhald regarding a suitable memorial to our Into beloved Mr. Savage, to bo subscribed entirely by the aged and as 110 very nicely puts it, those who have not been too lortunate in life. I feel.sure the suggestion will be heartily approved b.v all beneficiaries and if properly organised a sufficient sum would be realised, say at an averago of Is, to erect a worthy monument to a great soul who devoted bis life to the service of humanity.
