JUNIOR CONTROL BOARD The junior b'tard of tho Auckland Rugby J>arne last evening strongly opposed a proposal by the Control Board to extend the limit from three matches to six for junior players being retained in the. senior or re* servo grade. Members expressed a unanimous opinion that the chantre would be too drastic, as well as unnecessary, because the quality of a trialist should be measured in three gamen. It was also contended that the rule would bo harmful to junior clubs and their organisation. A suggestion was approved for tho appointment of a junior organiser. Tho clubs are to bo circularised regarding the formulation of a scheme to deal with players protester! asrainst who adopted artificial and temporary methods to reduce weight. Mr. E. Chapman was appointed chairman and Mr. C. TTowe deputy-chairman. Mr. G. Batchelor was welcomed as a new member and Mr. W. Berger was re-elected to the hoard by a ballot, made necessary as tho result of a tie at the previous meeting. Nominations for grade teams aro to c!o«e on April 10 and competitions are expected to start on April 27.
