DIPHTHERIA TREATMENT
CHILDREN IN AUSTRALIA Interesting developments in investigations into public health in Australia were outlined by Dr. F. J- Gwynno, who returned from a short visit to the Commonwealth-by the Monterey jestcrday. The principal experiment was tbo immunisation of c4iiklren _ from ' . diphtheria and already over 2oO,UUU school pupils had been treated. The treatment was entirely volun- . tarv, but the response had been most satisfactory. .Generally a small charge was made to cover expenses. Lho wotK , was being carried out by various muni- ! cipal authorities at the request of the Commonwealth Government. It 'was anticipated that when another I00,UI)(J children had been treated there would be no fear of the disease. An intensive campaign also was being carried out against animal and human tuberculosis. '
