' ' J' [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, • Monday March wasi one of the' driest months experienced in Hamilton for some time, only ,85in. of rain being recorded, compared with the average fall for the month of 3,40 in. During the first three months of the year, however, 13.63 in. of rain has fallen, against 9.29 in. for the samo period last year. Another unusual feature was that two frosts were experienced, as much as eight degrees being registered at Ruakura. The heavy rain during January and February has resulted in pasture growth being well maintained, and most dairy companies show greater production than last year. NORTH AUCKLAND AREA AVERAGE MAINTAINED [from otm own correspondent] WHANGAKEI. Monday In Whangarei 4.3 in. of rain fell last month. The first fall was recorded on March 20 after a month without rain. The average for March is 4.44 in. Ihe lowest fall recorded was in IMB, when only .69in. fell, while in 1930 a total of 11.51.in. was recorded. This year 20.Dlin. of rain have fallen.
