CATCHES AT WHANGAROA [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN nORRESPQNDEXT] WHANGAROA, Sunday Fishing from Whangaroa on Thursday Mr. C. C. Best, of Singapore, lauded a striped marliti weighing 2611b. He also hooked a malco sharkj and after an hour brought it alongside, the launch. When pricked with a harpoon, however, it made off, and fought for a further hour and 15 minutes before being landed, r A striped marlin weighing 3271b. was caught on Saturday by Mr. A. Xisbet., of "Wellington, while Mr. W. Tocklington, of Kaikohe. landed a specimen of 2771b. Mr. W. Hvnson, of Kaikohe, and Mr. H. Tocklington, of Katkohe, caught striped marlins weighing 2861b. and 2651b. respectively. A striped marlin of 3501b. was landed by Mr. S. Ellison, of Hamilton.
