NEWS FROM WHANGAREI
Mrs. Rolison has returned to her home from a visit .to the Waikato. Mrs. 0. D. Weir, of Hamilton, is a visitor to this district. Mrs. A. C. Snieiit-on has returned to Whangarei from a visit to Auckland. She was accompanied on her return by her mother, Mrs. Baker, who will spend a holiday in Whangarei. Miss Hazel Megson, of Christehurch, is the guest of Mrs. C. V. Stringer, of Whangarei. Mrs. P. Williams, of Sydney, is visiting Whangarei and is tho guest of Mrs. S. Eulljames. Miss M. Nisbet has returned to Whangarei from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. P. B. Alley, of Gisbornc, and Mrs. Trevor Gibson, of Tauranga, are visiting Whangarei and are the guests of Mrs. E. He.slop. Miss Barbara Walker has returned to Whangarei from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Harold Cotter, of Whangarei, is a visitor to Wellington. Mrs. P. H. Pack wood, who will leave Whangarei shortly, has been the guest of honour at a number of farewell gatherings this week. Major Packwood was district engineer of the Public Works Department and is now in command of the Survey Company with tho Expeditionary Force. One of the farewell gatherings was arranged by the wives of Public Works Department officials and at this a presentation was made to Mrs. Packwood by Mrs. T. Wright, on behalf of those present.
