REGATTA AT RANGIRIRI SPEED-BOAT CHAMPIONSHIPS Favoured by calm, fine weather, the annual regatta on the Waikato River at Rangiriri on Sa'turday was highly successful. Last year, the fixture was allowed to fall away to a few speed-boat events, but this year a new committee, backed by enthusiastic support from members of tho power-boat and canoe clubs •at Huntly, conducted • a much more ambitious programme, embracing both., speedboat and canoe races. The championship event for inboard speedboats was won by Hydro, owned by Mr. R. Murphy. of'Puni, Pukekohc. Miss Pam (Mr. H. Lawlcr, Auckland), was second, and Grasshopper (Mr. J. Sinton, Rangiriri), third. The outboard championship pennant went to Pug (Mr. G. Palmer, Hamilton), with Silver Slipper (Mr. J. Malcolm, ITuntly). s;econd, and Miss Hamilton (Mr. A. Beaver.
