Contests for Two-Wheelers

The Auckland Motor-Cycle Club held a very successful one-day trial last Sunday, 22 riders competing. There was a number of observed sections ill the Howick district, sufficient rain having fallen overnight to make the going difficult. The trial resulted in a win for R. Andrews, of Pukekohe, who put up an excellent performance to finish with a loss of only one point. A number of new riders took part and made an excellent showing in an event that was too much for some more experienced motor-cyclists. The results were: —1?. Andrews (500 c.c. Triumph), lost 1 point, 1; R. Brough (250 c.c. 8.5.A.), lost 7 points,

2; .J. C'ortese (350 c.c. A.J.S.), lost 10 points, :i; V. Dixon (500 c.c. Triumph), lost 11 points, 4. In the novice section J. Cortese was first. Club members are reminded of the meeting in the elubrooms on Tuesday night. Interesting cinematograph films will be shown by a member of the Transport Department with the object of promoting road safety. All motorcyclists are invited to attend. Several entries have been received already for the beach-racing meeting to be held at Muriwai on April 7. Any further competitors are asked to place their entries with the club secretary immediately. The programme will cater for all sizes of machines and will include handicap and scratch races for racing and touring models.
