GROWTH OF RAGWORT
[from our own corrksi'Oxdent] PUTARURU, Friday At a meeting of the Matamata County Council the inspector, Mr. H. T. Brill, reported that, contrary to expectations, ragwort had continued to bloom and mature much more rapidly than during the corresponding periods of any previous seasons, due mainly to the exceptionally favourable weather. However, with the advent of cooler temperatures, there was already a marked decline in the growth. The inspector stated that, acting on the authority of the Department of Agriculture, lie had started a gang under the 13A. scheme on clearing ragwort on land that came under the scope of the scheme.
