GENERAL SITUATION COOL AND CHANGEABLE The weather report and forecast for New Zealand issued by the Government i meteorologist Inst evening were as follows: —A weak trough of low pressuro is moving off to the east, and the .Dominion is coming under the influence of an intense anti-cyclone, which is approaching uToss the Tnsman Sea. Winds. —[''imii between south-east and south-west almost generally, strong in exposed positions, but gradually decreasing. Seas. —Zealand waters: "Rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but slowly decreasing and otherwise slight or moderate. Eastern Tnsman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas, but wind and sea decreasing from the west.' ' * Weather.—Cool and rather changeable, with some isolated brief showers, but conditions improving. Some light / frosts probable inland in Otago and Canterbury.
