CENTENNIAL CANOE
[from ode own correspondent] "WHANGAREI, Saturday Broken into its three sections, the 120 ft. Maori canoe that was such a feature of the Waitangi centennial celebrations, is now lying at the Maori meeting house near the residency. The bow and stern portions have been placed in the meeting-house, while the long centre portion is lying outside covered with galvanised iron. Negotiations are in train for the construction of a building at Waitangi to house the craft. The smaller Ngapuhi canoe is housed in the old Maori on the flat by the xoouth of the [Waitangi River,
