VESSEL BEACHED
AWAHOU AT ONEHUNGA NELSON CARGO UNLOADED An inspection of the Richardson Line motor-vessel Awahou was made yesterday morning, when she was beached at Onehunga following the discovery of a leak in the plates. On the recommendation of tile Marine Department cargo loaded for Nelson was discharged when the vessel returned to the wharf and the Awahou will leave Onehunga for Wellington this morning with her holds empty. She will receive an overhaul at the southern port, temporary repairs being made before she sails. The cargo discharged from the Awahou will be taken to Nelson by the motor-vessel Alexander, which will reach Onehunga on Monday morning from the south to make a special loading.
