AUSTRALIAN MINISTER
CALL ON MR. ROOSEVELT CREDENTIALS PRESENTED (Received March 6, 5.35 p.m.) "WASHINGTON, March 5 The Australian Minister to the United States, Mr. R. G. Casey, called at White House and presented his credentials to President Roosevelt, after which tlie two exchanged forma] statements on their mutual hopes of further strengthening Australian and American friendship. They chatted informally on their respective interests, particularly in the Pacific. Other official calls in the capital were made subsequently.
Mr. Casey will leave for New York to-night to see the Australian representative of the British Purchasing Mission and J. P. Morgan and Company, fiscal agents for the Australian debt. Mr. Casey will inquire into tbe origin of reports that Australians may seek American bankers' credits to finance non-military purchases.
