YOUNG BOY DROWNED
TARAWERA RIVER TRAGEDY [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE, Wednesday The second drowning within eight days occurred at Kawerau, when Theo Oilman, aged nine, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Gilman, was drowned in the Tarawera River. The boy went to the river with several companions, and it was not until the others had returned to the bank that they discovered Gilman was missing. His body was then seen being carried out to sea 011 a swift current. It was not recovered.
