Pressure remains high to the north. Winds.- —From between north and west at first, hut with a temporary south-westerly change extending over most of the South Island during tonight or to-morrow morning, moderate in the far north, tut fresh to strong from Taranaki and Hawke's Bay southward and reaching galo force in many places. \ I Seas. —New Zealand waters: Hough to very rough at times about Cook and . Foveaux , Straits and ■ south of Cape Egmont, rather rough north of Cape Egrnont, and elsewhere slight or moderate inshore. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds and moderate seas in the northern portion; strong winds to gales from a westerly quarter and very rough seas in southern portion. Weather. —Unsettled in western and southern' areas of the South Island, with intermittent "heavy rain and possibly some snow on the mountains. Elsewhere mainly fair to cloudy, lint with scattered rain to-night between Taranaki and Wellington and to-mor-row on the east coast of the South Island.
