TWO WATERSIDERS FINED
[SEQUEL TO NAPIER DISPUTE
[by telegraph—own, "correspondent] NAPIER, Tuesday An echo of the recent waterside trouble at Port Ahuriri was the appearance in the Napier Magistrate's Court yesterday of two waterside workers, {Robert Scott Beveridge and Thomas •Robert Clark. Beveridge pleaded guilty ,to using insulting words to a stevedore, and Clark pleaded guilty to a icliarge of using obscene language. About 30 watersiders had gone out to load a ship and had had to return to the roadstead. It was held that tho defendants and four others were intoxicated and a stevedore had objected to their working. It was then the language complained of had been ■used, the police stated. Both men had already been/severely penalised by their ■union Beveridge had been deprived of work which was equivalent to a loss of £'2o and,Clark had also suffered ■severe!v. Beveridge was fined £1 and
