STRANDING OF VESSEL
MARINE COURT'S FINDING (Received February 26, 30.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 26 The Commonwealth Court of Marine Inquiry gave a verdict that the stranding of the Burns-Philp motor-ship MJerkur, which went ashore on the Northern Territory coast on January 15, and was later refloated, was caused by the sectoi-s of the East Vernon light being 3£ degrees incorrect. Sufficient allowance was not made by the master' for the flood tide setting to the north-east through the channel. The stranding was not due to any failure, of duty or any act of defauit.
