MR. J. MARTIN ; . [l-'ltOM OUR OWN CORHKSI'ONDHNT] ! PUTAKURU, Thursday The death has occurred of Mr. John Martin, aged 73, one of Putaruru's oldest .residents. Born at Hendon, England, Sir. Martin en mo to New Zealand at the ago of nine. Sir. Slartin came to Piltururu to build engines for the Taupo Totara Timber Company 35 vears ago and had been hero ever since, lie was tho first chairman of the Putaruru school committee and was interested in all kinds of sport. He is survived by three sons and three daughters.
