GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSALS

DISCUSSION BY GROWERS T ' Fruit-growers from Henderson, Huapru, Albany and Gratia assembled in Oratia Hall last night to discuss the proposals put beforo the industry by tlio Minister of Marketing, the Hon. AV. Nash. The Minister had offered the industry 7s a case f.o.b. for 1,000,000 cases of export apples and pears. The growers' representatives had asked the Government to pay 6s 6d a case at tho assembly point, thus cutting out tho cool storage charges, and that the quantity purchased should bo increased to 1.500,000 cases. After giving fullest consideration to all representations made by tho directors of the Fruitgrowers' Federation and members of tho Fruit Export Control Board, tho meeting unanimously supported tho resolutions already submitted to the Minister.
