THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE BRISKER TONE AT CLOSE Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday was quiet until the final call when it was brisker. Government loans remained in strong demand, with few sellers. Bank of New Zealands again sold at the year's peak. Oilers for insurances firmed, with the exception of New Zealands. Inquiry for Auckland Gas remained firm. Dominion Breweries responded at the close to the announcement of a new issue. Australian industrials improved, with the high levels of offers for Colonial Sugars a feature. Now Zealand issues were quiet. A further upward trend was evident in Fiji gold shares.
