WAR-TIME PRODUCTION
The outbreak of war caused immediate changes in film production. A few days after Britain declared war, Samuel Goldwyn announced that' preparation j had b'cen begun for immediate production of '"Blackout Over Europe," a story by Jo Swerling, in which Gary Cooper will play the lead. The picture will replace Goldwyn's "Raffles," the filming of which was stopped because David Niven, who was appearing in the title role, is subject to call for military service by Great Britain. The new picture will deal with aerial bombardments, but it is understood no country will be identified.
