PHYSICAL WELFARE

[from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Physical welfare work being carried out in the Waikato was outlined by Miss R. Stephenson, area officer,, at a meeting of the Hamilton district committee of the Physical Welfare and Recreation Department. Miss Stephenson said tho work undertaken included the training of leaders for physical instruction, the organising of play on children's playgrounds, and tho introduction of the soft ball game of baseball. The resignation of the secretary, Mr. J. 11. Ledgcrwood, who has been appointed representative of the Young Men's Christian Association at Hopuhopu camp, was received. Dr. S. R. do la Mare was elected in Mr. Ledgerwood's place.
