MEN DETERRED BY RAIN WALK OF QUARTER OF A MILE [bt TELEGRAPH —OWN" correspondent] GREYMOUTH. Thursday Because of heavy rain in the morning at Rewanui, the Liverpool State coal mine was idle yesterday. The miners assembled at the bathhouse as usual this morning and there changed into their working clothes before going below. Heavy rain set in and because the men considered that they wotild be wet through by the time they had walked about a quarter of a mile from the bathhouse to the mine, they decided not to work and returned to their homes.
