HANDBAG SNATCHED
WOMAN VISITOR LOSES £l2 DISAPPEARANCE OF THIEF A handbag containing £l2 and some personal possessions was snatched from an elderly woman visitor, Mrs. A. Kelsey, of Wellington, while she was walking along Eden Street, close to Courtvillo Flats, at about six o'clock on Tuesday evening. The thief, a young man, escaped into Symonds Street, and, although detectives afterward searched the locality, he was not traced. Mrs. Kelsey had no warning. She was talking to her daughter when her handbag was torn from her hand by the man, who suddenly appeared from behind them. Ho made off toward the grounds of the Supremo Court on the opposite side of Eden Street. Mrs. Kelsey called for help and several persons came out from Courtville Flats, but the thief had disappeared. -
