SEPTBIBEB, FJGUBES_ EXPORTS £187,000 LOWER IMPORTS DO\lN BY £1,137.000 Exports for September were £187,000 lower in value than for the corresponding month last year, according to the preliminary figures of overseas trade for tho period issued by i the Customs.• Department in Wellington yesterday.'. The total is £905,000 below that for September, 1937, and is, in fact, the lowest to be recorded since. 1935. Imports have decreased in value by £1,137,000 compared with' the level a year previously and are back_ to approximately the figure shown jn 1935. For the nine months ended September the exports were valued at £2795 and the imports at £14.600, both values being in New Zealand currency.
