APPOINTMENT IN ENGLAND SIR EDWARD WILSHAW Advice was received yesterday by the Auckland branch of Cable and Wireless, Limited, that the chairman of directors of the company, Sir Edward Wilshaw, K.C.M.G., has accepted an invitation from the British Government to join the advisory council to the Ministry of Information iii an honorary capacity. Sir Edward's whole career has been devoted to telegraphic communications and as chairman of a company which maintains and operates an Empire-wide, network of cable and radio systems his complete grasp of existing conditions and his extensive experience are re garded as likely to be of great,-Value to the Government. Ho is recogniiied as an authority on telegraph matters and his services have been eagerly sought in conferences where Empire and international communications have been under consideration,
