POPULAR APPOINTMENT CONFERENCE SECRETARY The appointment of Mr. A: M. Mcßeath as secretary to the New Zealand Racing Conference has been well received by racing men throughout the Dominion'and he is an efficient and courteous official ,who should fill the position ably. Mr.< Mcßeath'was entertained in the press gallery at Trenthain on Saturday afternoon by the assembled pressmen 'from' various parts of, the country and congratulated on his appointment. Mr. O. Scott, chairman of the ,gallery, did the honours, and Mr. E. ■L. Riddlford, president of the Wellington Racing Club, and Mr. J. S. McLeod; -presi-• dent of the Racing Conference, added their congratulations. Messrs. C. W. Tringham, H. P. P. Blundell and H. 11. H. Chalmers and Miss D. E. Bray were also present.
