ELLERSLIE TRAINING TWO-YEAR-OLDS GO FAST PHALERON RUNS BEST THREE CHEDDINGTON BEATS WORTON BY BOBRIKOFF •Two-year-olds took the honours at Lllerslie yesterday, when Phaleron and Cheddinctoii recorded the best times over three and four furlongs respectively. Conditions were ideal, and the No, 2 grass track provided excellent going for fast work. ' On tho grass. Pern (Farrell) and Trevaco (McTavish) finished abreast over six furlongs in 1.1 <0 3-5. It was tho best of the morning for the distance, and both hacks are showing tho benefit of their recent* racing. Royal Son (Neil) and Bidc-a-Weo (Kerr) ran an easy half-mile in 52 3-ss. In a similar task, Trilliarch (Gcmmell) recorded 52 2-ss. Miss Appellant (Gilchrist), working in l improved style, covered six furlongs in 1.18, tho last three' in 3S 4-ss. Waitarma (Pell) sprinted five furlongs in I.G 3-5. the Jast three in 40s.

Royal Appellant (Gcinmcll) strode over a round in 1.54 4-5, tho last six furlongs taking 1.25 3-5. He looks well and should bo ready to show his best at Avondale next month. Water Hound (Markwick) finished in front of Irish Money (Gilchrist) at tho end of three furlongs in 3Ss. Water Hound shaped promisingly, considering he has not been up a great length of time. Red Warden (McTavish) was going well within himself at the conclusion of three furlongs in 38 4-ss. The half-brother to The Cardinal is progressing steadily, but gives the impression that he will reauiro a little I lino. Kara Avis Shows Dash Rara Avis (Kerr) showed plenty of dash while running three furlongs in 37 3-ss. Over the same ground, Phaleron (Markwick) recorded 3(3 3-ss, tho best for tho distance. Phaleron was not disgraced in his first start in tho Wolcome Stakes at Ellerslio, which appears to havo sharpened him up a good deal. Tho' Dude (Gcinmell) was not bustled to run three furlonus in 11 -l-ss. Spinning Wheel (Murray) worked lazily over sis furlongs, the last half-mile taking 50 l-ss. She has raced well but unluckily in her latest starts and will bo given further opportunities ,at Whangarei next week. Gay Broney (Markwick) and Lady Acushla (McTavish) were associated over five furlongs in 4.0 3-5, the last three being run in 30 3-os. Both are beginning to shape up well. Cintracc (Murray) covered seven furlongs in 1.37 3-5. Bright Idea (Buchanan) strode over six furlongs in I.IS 2-5, the last threo in 39 4-ss. Bright. Tune • Daango (Gilchrist) hit out in improved style over three furlongs in 37 4-ss._ After running the first furlong in 12s, Biddy' Girl (Ryan) was not ridden out to complete half a mile in 51 4-ss. She has any amount of speed and has hardened up as a result of her race at Ellerslie. Stonehaven (Cameron) and Digger Jim (Murray) were companions over three furlongs in <los. Valspear (Gilchrist) got to the end of five furlongs in 1.4, the last three in 3S 4-sk. He worked well and would have done better only for his rider breaking a leather in the concluding stages. Cheddington (Farrell) beat Worton (Rae> over half a mile in 4ns. the first furlong being run in I'2s. The big Phaleron Bay colt, Cheddington, is an attractive mover and he is improving with every sprint. Wnpangh (Dowrick) was not, ridden out to complete the last three furlongs of half a mile in 40s.

Round by Beverley ffight Pilot (Gilchrist) spririjcd three furlongs in 3D 1 -ss, without, being extended. Beverley (Sinton) and Mori Acre (Gilchrist) were travelling comfortably on terms at the conclusion of a round in 1.40, the Inst, six furlongs being run in 1.18 and half-mile in 525. It was a sound effort on the part of both, particularly Beverley, who carried a good weight. After beginning slowly from tho fivefurlong post, Odtan (Gilchrist) ran the last half-mile in 50s. Ho moved very freely and should bo in great order for his Whangarei engagements next week. Tn a similar task, Scbrof (Cameron) recorded 55 l-ss, but ho was doing it very easily. Joined by Glen Abb (Pitchie) over the last four. Rlngshot (Bevan) and Imporator (Sinton) went over six hurdles. They gave a good display, Ringshot being slightly ahend at the finish. Tea Clint (Sinton) and Royal (Ritchie) wore companions over six hurdles, Land Girl (Williams) joining in. over the last four. Royal Abb and Tea Chat were responsible for' a fast and clean display and finished well clear of Land Girl, who did not show much confidence at first, but cleared the last two in great, style. .. . , , Loyal Grant (Gemmell) cleared several ponv hurdles safely. Beverley (Sinton) again showed aptitude by jumping two pony hurdles in good stylo.
