Tho question of late starting was'raised by Mr. A. <T. Gaily, who deplored the laxity shown last season by the senior clubs. He said that the Umpires' Association would not, tolerate a repetition this season. Mr Gaily said the umpires would insist on prompt starting of matches, and failure to commence within 10 minutes of tho scheduled starting time would result in tho umpires leaving the ground. Mr, Dickson expressed the hope that all clubs would take heed of the umpires' warning. The close proximity of wicketfl at Victoria Park and tho Domain wn's mentioned by Mr J. Ball, who said that at the former ground the position was really dangerous to players. He considered that at least ono wicket on each ground should be eliminated. The secretary. Mr. R. P. Taylor, said that at present there were only sufficient wickets to cater for the activities of the various grades. Several delegates made strong appeals for the retention of a wicket at Onehunga. The speakers claimed that the Onehunga wickot was superior to any of the town pitches. Tt was eventually decided to use only the wickets allotted by the Cit,v Council at present and to review tho position at the next meeting. The possibility of the formation of a boys or junior competition, was raised by Mr. F.) Beaton who said there wore not sufficient rccrnltintf grounds for Homo of tho clubs.
